Setton Pistachio of Terra Bella Inc. has turned on a massive 1.7 megawatts of solar-generated power to sort, roast and package millions of pounds of pistachios at its 300,000 square foot pistachio processing facility in Terra Bella in the Central Valley.
Cenergy Power designed and built the solar system that is actually two connected systems: a 1.120-megawatt (MW) carport/ground mount and a 560.28-kilowatt (kW) ground solar system. Together, they are expected to produce over 2.6 million kilowatt hours (kWh) of clean energy per year each year.
Cenergy says this is equivalent to removing over 1,880 metric tons of CO2 from the atmosphere or planting 400 acres of pine forest annually.
“We take great pride in the special attention we pay to environmentally friendly practices and implementing new methods to reduce our carbon footprint while increasing the value of our products,” says Lee Cohen, general manager for Setton Pistachio.
As part of the solar arrangement, in addition to the design, engineering and installation, Cenergy Power will be providing 10 years of scheduled operations and maintenance for the system, including touch-free panel cleanings, preventive maintenance and repair, and overall system warranties.
Cenergy Power is a division of BAP Power Corp.
